Back to School from Mom, PhD

Hi, readers! Welcome to the Mom, PhD blog! I'm the mom to a sweet 14-month-old boy. My husband, son, and I live in the vibrant Berkeley, California. We moved here about 3 months ago from Miami so I could do my PhD at Berkeley. I'm also a freelance writer and journalist, most well known for writing about motherhood for Glamour.

After deferring my PhD for a year, my maternity leave has come to an end and I will be returning to university life as a full-time graduate student. I'm really excited to push the boundaries of my critical thinking and challenge myself intellectually, but I also have mixed feelings about leaving my life as a stay-at-home-mom.
