Hold on Tight, Baby Boy

The start of a new year is always a sentimental time for me. I've been in a reflective mood, undistracted by the work demands of school. Looking at photos, I can't believe how big our baby boy has become in the last year and a half. I don't even think I can call him a baby anymore! He's learning to talk, interacting with people and things with confidence, and marching around like a big boy.

Parenting is hard; every moment is one of exertion. But it's important to find joy amidst the tantrums, food fights, and car seat battles. And if you can't find love in the moment, that's okay. Frustration is a requirement of parenthood. We've all been there. Just make sure to reflect and remember every once in a while. As a parent, you can't grow without looking back.

I’m feeling all the feels! How about you? What parenting realizations have you had this new year? Let me know at minhae.shim.roth@gmail.com or on Instagram at @momphdblog.
